Safety At Central Scotland Shooting School the safe handling of all firearams is the fundamental and underlying principle on which all our clay target activities are base. It is is therefore incumbent on all persons attending the venue that safe practices are always employed and best practice always adopted. Our shooting school operates closely with the various firearms licensing authorities in the Scottish region. If you intend to take up clay target shooting and buy your own shotgun then a Shotgun Certificate is required before any purchase is made. The certificate application is straightforward and we will be happy to help you make contact with the appropriate Licensing Authority for your area. It will often stand a newcomer to the sport in good stead with the relevant Licensing Authorities if he or she is a member of a shooting club, as this infers a willingness to learn and understand, from appropriate experienced people, all aspects of gun safety and handling.
Like most good habits, handling a gun safely is second nature to the experienced shooter. Newcomers to shooting will be taught from day one how to handle, load, unload and transport a shotgun.
